ELECTIONS ARE WELL RUN.   LET'S KEEP IT THAT WAY.   TRUST BUT VERIFY.

Partisan Observers are an alternative or supplement to a country's official accredited election observers, The primary aim is to encourage activists to see electoral processes in detail, to gain assurance that things are well run, which they usually are. The secondary aim is to gather, filter and summarise any perceived shortcomings, and to report them to the relevant authorities or political party officials.  The third is to keep an eye on electoral services and the Returning Officer.

Having briefly been a non-partisan election observer accredited with the UK's electoral commission, I find I have better access acting as a postal, polling and count agent and as a canvasser, and have more flexibility in reporting. See Topics / Partisan vs Accredited Observers for a comparison.

Our initial focus is on physical ballot integrity: empty ballot boxes at the start of poll, ballot seal numbers, ballot box transport and overnight storage, tallying vote counts at polling stations and the count.  We also observe the postal vote opening. We have future plans (see Topics  / Future Plans),  but have put them to one side until we are operating in more than one local authority area, so that some of those future plan can can be trialled away from our local area.

Partisan Observers have one Long Term Observer, me, Pepe, and are recruiting political activists (Candidates, Electoral Agents, Count Agents,  Polling Agents, Postal Voting Agents,  Canvassers)  to act as Short Term Observers during elections.

Partisan Observers soft-launched in September 2025.  To get involved, email pepe@partisanobservers.org  or phone 07458 674340.
